How to add new domains to a Microsoft 365 Tenant

Task: This article will help you add more domains to your Microsoft 365 Tenant.

Prerequisites (if applicable):
You must be the owner of the domains that you wish to add, and have purchased via a Domain Registrar (i.e. Go Daddy, Crazy Domains etc).

Instructions

  1. Once you have signed into https://admin.microsoft.com, go to Settings > Domains
  2. Click on Add Domain
  3. Domains > Add Domain, will now require you to enter the desired domain name that you own, enter the domain, click on Use this domain
  4. The next screen will require you to verify ownership of the domain (and it will detect your domain registrar) - this example Go Daddy
  5. If you are using Go Daddy, it will prompt you to sign into Go Daddy and enable the creation of the DNS records for you.
  6. Add DNS records - ensure Exchange and Exchange Online Protection is checked, untick Skype for Business and then Add DNS records
  7. As I'm connected to GoDaddy it will now prompt with Confirm Access and click Connect
  8. If successful, the DNS records will be added to DNS Host, and you are now able to associate the domain to users.

Outcome:
You have added an additional domain name for your Microsoft 365 Users.
